Kerubin as support tool in the prevention of adverse events, in the interest of all patients.
Pharmacovigilance is the discipline and set of activities aimed at identifying, evaluating and preventing adverse events or other problems related to the use of drugs.
The number of reports of suspected adverse drug reactions is a key criterion for defining a good system of Pharmacovigilance, as it indicates a progressive involvement of reporters in the National Pharmacovigilance Network (RNF) and constant monitoring.
The use of a platform such as Kerubin, which focuses on the prevention of adverse events, makes it possible to contribute to the evaluation of a drug’s risk / benefit profile.
In this regard, a collaboration was formed in 2018 with the Campania Region’s Centre for Pharmacovigilance and Pharmacoepidemiology (CRFV), which actively participated in the decision-making process of the platform’s design.
For patients monitored through Kerubin, the platform itself intercepts the potential adverse event and automatically relays the report, usually through the Pharmacy of the appointed hospital.
Moreover, in collaboration with the CRFV Kerubin promotes the system of spontaneous reporting of suspected adverse reactions through VigiFarmaco, the web platform accessible to citizens and healthcare professionals.
